The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee

On June 3, 2006, the Festival of Lights will be hosting its 6th Annual Golf Tournament at the Foothills Golf Course. The tournament will be a scramble format with a maximum of 144 golfers. Once again, the Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee has been selected to partner with the Festival of Lights Association to produce this tournament. Last year, the Festival of Lights donated $3,000 to the Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee to assist with the funding of their many programs.

The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee is one of the many clubs in the world’s largest service organization. Our focus is “Young Children: Priority One.” Among our objectives are to promote human and spiritual values, higher social, business, and professional standards, a more intelligent and aggressive citizenship, and an increase of justice, patriotism, and good will.

The Kiwanis strive to make a difference in their local communities. Local programs include support for Families at Christmas and Thanksgiving, Back to School Shopping, Reading is Fundamental, Key Clubs at Mountain Pointe and Desert Vista High Schools, Cub Scout Pack 3879, Camp for Underprivileged Children and Citizenship Awards to Middle School Youth. The Ahwatukee Chapter also supports Kiwanis International in a worldwide effort to eliminate Iodine Deficiency Disorders
