What is Your Focus?
My Grandma Marilyn was one of my favorite people. She was at most 4 foot
eleven on a good day if you puffed up her hair a little bit and allowed her
to stand on her tippy toes.
She was a bundle of energy and was very generous to me and I really got a
kick out of her.
She was the type of lady who bought all of her postage stamps one year in
advance and she used to arise extra early in the morning so that she could
read the paper and then pass it on to her handicapped neighbor whom she knew
did not subscribe to the paper or really get out much.
My grandma Marilyn used to be the editor for a little quaint newsletter for
her Condominium complex and at the bottom of the newsletter she used to
write the most classic side note.
The note read- Now we know that there all types of people in this world.
There are those who look for the beauty and those who look for the faults so
sprinkled in between some of the beautiful stories and poems in this
newsletter are some purposefully mis-spelled words so that we could satisfy
all parties.
I just cracked up the first time I read that note and her simple cute point
really strikes ome for us when we work with our practice members, coaching
clients, and food coaching clients.
It is truly fascinating to see what people focus on and how that focus or
that flavor of focus shows up in their bodies, choices, and lives.
I think about my Grandma often as I remember to choose carefully what to
focus on.
I was in the store the other day and I ran into a gentleman I knew. He
proceeded to share with me that his BLEEPING wife gave him this BLEEPING
list and now after a hard day's work he had to run some BLEEPING errands.
I listened and then I joked with him that he probably would not change a
thing about it.
He laughed and he seemed lighter and he could tell that I was shifting away
from his negativity.
We parted ways and I felt my crinkled list in my pocket that Elissa gave me
and I smiled inside in that I knew our daughter was sound asleep as I was
out running an errand and I knew that Elissa was keeping a loving and close
watch on any of her needs.
Life is what happens to us when we are busy making other plans is a famous
quote
>From John Lennon and I actually think it should say- Life is what we
>experience
when we truly open our hearts, eyes and ears.
I can't stress enough how powerful one's focus is when it comes to creating
a fulfilling and joy filled life.
We thank you for being the type of people who focus on life affirming
choices, words and behaviors and we are grateful for your focus for you
always motivate us to fine-tune ours.
We hope that your world is always a little better after we interact with you
and we appreciate you for the opportunity to do so.
Our Warmest ( No Arizona Pun Intended)
